I need to take Friday off

Hi all, I need to take Friday off work as I need to go to the the docs, if I ask Monday morning is that too short notice? do I ask for a part day or just take a day off sick?

thats a really local issue, so many factors come into this depending on your office but mainly can they get the delivery covered

I think they could, but If I ask and they say no they will know why I am "sick" I might ask the Union rep first thing.

You might be able to work until say 20 minutes before appointment and then see Doctor and resume work when finished appointment. Assuming the walk is not too far from the Doctor.

As above thats what i do. I explain to manager i have doctor at whatever time and that i will resume delivery afterwards.
You could always ask for half day off depending what time the appointment is. I'm pretty sure they can't refuse you a doctors visit.
