1 in 4 Saturdays off for reserves....

Our revision has just gone in.

Reserves asking for their 1 in 4 off as stated in bt2010.

All staff who hold a duty currently get 1 in 4

Staff threatening to walk out after doing their 5 days one week 4 the next, as everyone else gets it and its in the agreement.

Any ideas how to help them out.

erm yip, if dom and union rep never agreed or discussed something as basic as how the rota was going to work, man thats basic stuff and both are to blame for that happening, so what else did they not bother to sort out?

Here Here. Our office is in chaos, not enough staff, because big DO don't care. They have employed more staff, put on more hours,cos our offices have lost at least 70 hrs. Bout time Reps took note too our plite, will go higher as our rep is only lining his pocket.

SorryI know you are on this site, but enough is enough. The DO duties are putting 5-20 delivery points, per deliver, where as our are 100+ per deliver that is the rurals yet alone the towns. Had enough sick off the b***s**t

When I read the title, I thought that the Reserves were going to get 1 in 4 saturdays off whilst the rest get 1 in 6 - that will be the fair thing to implement.

Posties having their own duties are privileged (yea, seniority and not so-seniority - a la revision, blah blah). There is so much going for people with walks already... Hence, Reserves deserve better not worse.

What this office has done (sorry, Mr Rep) is to throw the RESERVES to the wolves just that they can get themselves (duty holders) 1 in 4 saturdays. It is pure selfishness and should easily have been foreseen.

1 in 4 saturday is a poison chalice that relies on some sections being very badly treated. I saw the options sheet and it was obvious some people will have to work more saturdays (even dedicated saturdays' PT) to fulfil the 1 in 4.

I work in a 1 in 6 office and sometimes do not get saturdays for 2.5 months and have to go screaming and/or begging for it.

Members and Union want to keep a 6-day delivery but very few actually want or like to work on Saturdays - speaking with forked tongue is not just reserved for Politicians

When you use duty builder and build in rotas it doesn't use reserves. Merely duty holder and day off cover dudes.

It's lazy management that refuse to honour 1 in 4, not the maligned reps

Get the reserves list in seniority order.
They pick duties in seniority order weekly.
A note is made of the days off.
If a lower seniority reserve is falling behind on having a Saturday off he jumps the queue and picks 1st if there is a Saturday off duty available.

Too many reservers are being had over,you need to get together and get something sorted.
