I believe you can work for another business, it isn't frowned upon. You must, however, declare this to your line manager, there is related paperwork to be filled in, and obviously whatever other work you do must not interfere with your job at RM. My boss was asked this recently and also stated that you're not allowed to work for a competitor, although I know someone that did (a parcel/courier company).

If RM think u can survive on 24hrs in this economic climate tell em to F***off .The only reason they dont want you working for another company is it will cause headaches when ur asked to do O/T because ur so desperate ,you then say "hows about a F./T contract.They suddenly develop a hearing disorder.Like i said tell them to do one idiots.
