Can you only get a transfer with matching contract types?

E.g.

Perm to Perm

or

Fixed Term to Fixed Term

I just applied for internal transfer on the site but I couldn't proceed any further due to contract types being different.

you will remain perm but your hours will suit the other office not you so you will definitely be part time. don't apply on site, contact manager they can do it quick. seen it many times, providing you have a good sick record and are not on a stage

im currently on fixed term though. Was trying to apply on the site for a perm contract in another office but it said I couldnt procced due to contracts being different. It literally cut me off.

Although technically not a transfer. You can move from perm to contract via an add hoc process. It has to be agree by both DOMS of each DO.

You're length of service still carries.
