Right to my door no less. We need to privatise to maintain the USO, keep jobs and for investment in the future - don't worry Ofcom is going to make sure that everything is in order. What it fails to do as an information leaflet is to say who exactly is going to invest and why they would and when it means to be privatised. One thing is very clear though "The Government doesn't have the cash to spend on us. The economy is really tough. The Government has to watch every penny it spends" (As do we all) - this must be true because they actually put it in twice within a three page missive. It does show they are seriously going forward with a campaign for privatisation - what I eagerly await is the union response, which will hopefully be just as impressive for an anti privatisation campaign. RM quite clearly take the CWU seriously because within the package they actually mention them .................erm - not once, so evidently they don't feel they need them on board.

Rumour has it three entities are involved in preliminary talks about investment at various levels.
Again the rumour is one is Canadian and two UK based...one of those with a Scottish "identity".
How much truth is behind these rumours is anyone's guess but the one thing you can guarantee is that any investor will not be in it to protect the USO but to see a decent return from their investment.
While it's true that pension funds take a longer term view than pure investment funds neither hang around if the returns aren't coming in.
Once a slice of us(or all of us) is sold it could change hands half a dozen times in as many years so there isn't much point in championing the cause of one particular suitor over another.

This had me furious. After a crap day at work I come in to read this utter tripe. A few months ago we had 50% revisions "in place" (not working, mind you!) and now all of a sudden, we're fit as a fiddle and ready for investment.
Aside from the ridiculously patronising tone and the ENORMOUS diagrams they use in the Courier, they also completely failed to mention the questions we're really asking e.g. Where's our pay rise? Where's the lump sums we're still waiting on? What about t's and c's under privatisation? What would these "investors" be "investing" in?
Will I be taken down the conduct code for still calling parcels "packets"?
