Individual offices calling for strike action

Hi
I am wondering if it is possible for individual offices to call for a strike
on Wed 10th October due to the later starts. Would we need to ballot our office
or does the ballot the cwu held for strike action keep us ok.
I realise we need to give our dim 7 days notice.
Is it possible instead of continuous 24 hour strikes to just strike from the time we
finish at the mo to the finishing time of the later starts. This would result
in an hour a day strike action which would f*ck our office but we would
still get our weekly wage minus 5 hours.
I can live easier on a 35 hour week.

My DO has asked to have a separate Ballot on later starts but have heard nothing back yet, will ask at a meeting that the area Bods will be at tomorrow

i think the striking for the last hour of a delivery duty is something the cwu needs to look at closely in principle it would be great the only problem is what would the screws come up with th counter act it

I AM HAVING A MEETING ON WEDS AND ASKING THE SAME THING TBT.

certainly local branches can ballot, supposedly the North East region will ballot if RM imposes later starts but there has been no moves to start one going yet despite Oct 8 only a week away.

If your Branch can ensure a 'YES' vote then do it.

my fear would be them going down the route of wilfull delay as you would be contracted to work that hour if you bring back mail

1 day rolling strikes are the way to go ... it crippled them big time and now that we have entered into busier period it will cripple them more

This is what Streatham D.O. done last week 3hour strikes at end of there duties thurs-fri- sat
Result-They now have a massive backlog with managers up there everyday,giving them grief but getting twice as much back i would imagine

Well after the gate meeting this morning thats Dunfermline going for a ballot for OT ban,and looking to strike at end of shift,when its gonna happen dunno,but it was chaos in there today,about 10 lads gave up the cars,result,loads of cut offs and stacks of OT for those who wanted it,tomorrow looks like there will be a bigger turnout for folk not using cars,canna wait to see what happens

,and a big pat on the back to the two young P/t lads,who refused to take their cars,they stood their ground brilliantly

From the meeting today apparently the union higher ups say later starts is covered by the national ballot so they can call 1hr and 2hr strikes at end of new shifts when the want to. Apparently feeling is nationwide that we should strike at end of shifts Thu, Fri and Saturday. If this does happen they do not need to inform Royal Mail about each separate office but just give it a blanket notification for 2hrs at then end of the shifts.
