if it was the old red cast iron box it would be good for ebay....

wheres the h&s
sharp edges from pole in ground and on box could give someone nasty cut especially with all the dog piss
surely royal mail must remove street furniture which is damaged

obviously rusted through, dont they check the boxes for wear and tear.

I don't think ROMEC are maintaining the boxes anymore eastie.
That's why you have a van and trolley.

The boxes were rusting long before the revision was in sight. The country must be littered with unused grey boxes now.

One of our pillar boxes got flattened overnight by a car crashing into it. It was outside a PO who duly reported it on arrival at work. Before ROMEC got chance to do anything about it, some jobsworth pillock from the council turned up at the DO demanding that we repair or pay for the damage we had caused to the pavement. Went away red faced after having the situation explained.
