Trolleys on delivery

Does anyone know what the situation is using trolleys on delivery.

We have been told that you can use an 8 kilo bag, no problem, but today the management decided to tell us the rules have changed and trolleys must be used.
Strange thing is, Rurals don't have to use them, not needed for lapsing and those using the big trolleys can use an 8 kilo bag when they tie there trolley up.
Are the management just shitting us ????

Is this defo as our DOMs have always said the 8 kilo bag is fine, only changing there minds today

Its is Mandatory to use the assigned equipment for the duty.

Rurals and even walking duties can use 8kg puches as long as the duty has been risk assessed for them and they are the assigned equipment for that loop/section.

Lapsing sections - the same rule as above applies.

So if your round has been assigned trolleys then its Mandatory equipment and you should use it.


Ergo - No the management aren't shitting you - but they were before when they said 8kg bags can be used for the whole duty.

The rules have not changed. They are as laid down in the BT2010 Agreement which your manager like 99.99% of managers has failed to abide by.

There was a question regarding this in this weeks Courier. The answer was if you were given a trolley, you should be using it.(Its just a shame that managers are turning a blind eye to it as they know its a pace setter). If you only have 3 bundles and 3 packets still use the trolley, we really are just slitting our own throats.......

Pretty much the same except they are outside piled up in the yard like gravemarkers.
DOM knows about it,Area Manager knows about it even Moya knows about it .
Said bullyboy last week said we should be using them "as they don't make the delivery any slower" then he said it was "ok for people to be coming back an hour and a half earlier" whilst a few choosen few are given grief for finishing on or over their time and that he was going to prep test them.

Can't see why you wouldn't use them? I think they are a back and knee saver!! I finish the same time as my partner who puts a bag on his shoulder and jogs!! With the trolley you can have 2 bags so I take large parcels on my loop as well. Which saves time in the end.

Is his loop bigger than yours though ? if he's jogging and getting back at the same time, and not doing parcels while you are.

we've had park and loop in for ages, bag on shoulder faster if light, trolley about the same if heavy. I vary use between whatever is generally easier to use for each loop.

Had a knob fall off the top of a trolley today! ( No..not a rude joke!)
The plastic handle thingy...wasn't me thank god.
So we're a trolley down for Monday.

If he gets done before me, he helps me and vice versa. If there are a few large parcels on his loop then he usually takes a trolley also.
