To ask the Chairman of Committees what is the projected saving from the reorganisation of mail delivery services arising out of the House of Lords savings strategy and financial plan approved in 2010.

In 2011 the House of Lords Administration entered into an agreement with Royal Mail whereby Royal Mail staff would undertake final desk deliveries in Millbank House at no extra cost to the Administration. This saved an estimated £141,000 per annum by comparison with the cost of the additional five attendants who would otherwise have been needed.
