Drop & Go Cards

Post by MGB »

I'm interested in registering for a Drop & Go Card. My local post office is a branch in Tesco, and the staff wear Tesco Uniform. http://www.justgiving.com/Utils/imaging ... 338e19.jpg The POL website brings up this branch when I search for my nearest office offering Drop & Go, but I thought it was a franchise/sub post office. Are Tesco branches crown offices? Do they offer Drop & Go? Thanks

The Tesco Express Store in Wilmslow is not a Crown PO, it will be a Franchise type of outlet, but surprised to hear that the PO staff wear Tesco uniform, and not PO ltd's as its a contractual requirement that Franchise Offices livery their staff in the Post Office kit.

If this branch appears on the drop and go web site, as participating, does it make a difference what kind of outlet it is?

Yes, they wear uniform with the Tesco logo on, not the same as the actual shop workers, but it does say Tesco not Post Office. The name badges have Tesco's and POL's logo.

I was only asking as it has been mentioned that the PO website, particularly the branch finder, is inaccurate, and from what someone said on the ebay customers thread about asking the customer to leave the money POL have a scheme called Drop & Go which implied it was a Crown only scheme.

Thanks for the help

I've worked in a main sub office for over five years and we have never had uniforms issued. I have an old style one I wore in another office but the other staff wear their own clothes. It doesn't look very professional really.

MGB, Many Sub Post Offices now offer the Drop and Go service, Mary PO Franchise Offices and the new Mains PO Operating model require the assistants to wear a PO uniform, paid for by the contract operator of course.
