Is anyone still using bikes.

We are per-revision and still using bikes on some rounds but have been told they are going very soon ,just wondered if there are any offices still using bikes after revision? because we have been told there are none.

No ones using bikes u either van share or use a HCT trolley all bikes are sent to Africa no lie

If the best method is a bike then it can still be used. Got to dismiss totally any chance of using an HCT or shared van though before even thinking about it. Must be somewhere that a bike is still the best method ie very long driveways, narrow footpaths

The whole point of a revision is all about doin the job better and health and safety ie carrying more pkts etc why kill yeself carrying bags on a bike. I believe health and safety is 42 cent better in the last two years because of revisions so think that's sayin something ok might be wrong folks but !,,,,,,,

We are sub office where parent DO has had delivery methods but we are still 100% bikes apart from rural van driver.

This where the farce is. Royal Mail say they are removing bikes due to health and safety reasons whereas we all know that it is because they want to reduce staffing levels as they do not want to have a van replenishing the cycles.

I think the H&S has been better, not because of stopping using bikes, but that the people that used to carry all the weight on their backs now have HCT/LWTs.

You don't kill yourself carrying the weight on a bike, the bike takes the weight for you. It's like having a trolley you can ride rather than push/pull about like some demented street cleaner/golf caddy!

If I knew for certain I could transfer to an office where I would use a bike for delivery for My time with Royal Mail i would do it.I hate park and loop its killing My body slowly.
