Im currently off with stress at moment (home related), this will have triggered a stage 1, however if I stay off with this it can only trigger a stage 1 cant it?
If im off for weeks/ months stages 2 and 3 cant be triggered as I understand it, providing I dont go back to work inbetween.

Stages are trigged by different absences not the same absence so in theory if you don't return for 6 months its one absence.
But if you go back 3 times during that same 6 months for 1 week at a time with a month in between then you'll trip through the stages very quickly indeed.
