Hi all, great website....
Do the holidays run from April to April? I started at the beginning of February 2013 and in my contract (30 hours/3 months) it states my entitlement is 4 weeks 2.5 days per annum pro rata......do i have a small portion of holiday to take before 31st March 2013? Then from the 1st April 2013 how many weeks am i entitled to? Or have i got it wrong?
Thank you.....

Re: Holiday Question
I would ask your manager about it asap. You can also "carry over" up to 5 days into the following years entitlement.KnockKnock wrote:Hi all, great website....

Re: Holiday Question
I would just add I don't know all the rules regarding this, but you could ask the rep or ring HR - number on rear of payslip, they will tell you exactly where you stand.
When my leave entitlement increased it didn't apply until the following April, so they may tell you this.

Re: Holiday Question
On my 2012-2013 annual leave card I have 5 days outstanding. Will these carry on to the 2013 - 2014 period? Or can you lose them?

so 22.5 basic multiplied by 2 (feb-april)divided by 12 = 3.75

Re: Holiday Question
Yeah I'd like to know about this too. I've got 4 left. Yet I only work 1 day a week. Which means I only have 4 or 5 shifts off before the new holiday year. Surely they wouldn't let me just take a month off. I would rather they rolled over.RoyalSlave69 wrote:On my 2012-2013 annual leave card I have 5 days outstanding. Re: Holiday Question
You can carrry up to 5 days off into the following years leave plan. You can't have them taken off you/lose them. If you have more than 5 days outstanding then your boss should ask you to book them, or they may book them for you, only problem being you won't get them when you want them, they will be allocated in the most convenient spaces to them (at least that's what happens in my unit).JP1 wrote:Yeah I'd like to know about this too. The fact that you only work 1 day a week shouldn't matter.
Best thing to do is speak to your boss/book room asap and get your situations clarified one way or the other.
