Read this before and its a good read.
Shame they closed it down really. Did speak to a HGV driver who worked on Mailrail for many years and he said it was hard, hot and dusty work and was glad to be out of it.

Why aren't they ripping out the rails and selling all the metal for scrap? Stuff like that is at a premium price these days and you wouldn't need to shift it yourself you would have someone tender a value for it and then they'd shift it.

Yes I'd be more interested in the cash for scrap idea than nostalgia - but I think there could be a nice little earner letting out bedrooms in Buck House to well heeled anglophiles for a week, Phil could be the star act abusing the guests.......unintentionally of course.
