I thought i would be doing a few streets of mail and be home by 11 every day, how wrong i was, i'm sat here having finished my duty a couple of hours ago and my legs are still killing me. also being a young buck at 22 when i joined i thought i may get a few desperate housewives throwing themselves at me........still waiting.

Depends how desperate the housewives are!? I wasn't looking for that when I first started and I've had a fair few propositions!
As for the work load, ha, "part time contract with possible overtime" - never in my time here have I worked anywhere near my 30 hours!
I think it's fair to say no one knows what it's like to be a postie until you've done it. I'd love to get some of those miserable, complaining customers to do a day, it would destroy them.

It gets better, after a few weeks the pain in your legs goes, and once you get used to a round you'll be finishing on time if not earlier. I have one of the toughest walks in the office and i'm finish an hour early most days. But i still makes me laugh when a customer assumes the bag on our shoulder is all we deliver, and seem shocked when i say 'yeah this plus 5 or 6 more!'

It's actually better than I imagined it would be and can honestly say I love it. I've had easy days and I've had really tough days where I've felt like crying, but I can honestly say it's the best job I've ever had. Today I feel totally cream crackered and my legs are killing me but I wouldn't swap it for my old 9-5 desk job.

At 22 years you should improve your fitness fairly quickly As to the housewives well not so much now we go out so much later but a few at my office have had success over the years, one is now married with 3 kids
