why, lots of companies have id cards. we are supposed to be a high security company, it is only natural that we should have id cards.

Our office has had them for a wee while. Front of card has white background with centred RM Logo in bold black italics is found christian or first name and surname followed underneath that is a Serial Number: with a 4 numbered digit / 5 numbered digit underneath that is an Expiry date - mines expires 2012 - underneath that is Card verification phone 08702 400 349

Reverse background top half red in colour which has your christian or first name only on it in big white letters. Bottom half white incolour with again same RM Logo in the centre just below the logo and slightly to the right is a further 6 numbered digit then a 8 nmubered digit a - then a further single digit number.

What the fecks it all aboot :d'oh! :d'oh! :d'oh!

Im my office the utter incompetence of management to safeguard any personal information has led me to refuse to have my photo taken again. Once they lost all the copies of our driving licenses and their answer to the solution was to recopy everyones license again. I kicked up accusing them of failing in their responsibilities under the Data Protection Act, really caused a stink. Had 'em sh'@tting their pants for a few weeks. Argues about identity theft and I wanted the police called in blah blah. When after 7 days they found the originals, they shredded all the xtra copies of the licenses that they had taken. I told them that this too was against the DPA as that information belonged to the individuals and it could only be shredded with the agremeent of the individual and they could argue to be present at the shredding or returned to the driver...hehehe this also got them going.

Now they have written to me telling me I have ot have my photo taken for a new ID card. When I rang the manager concerned and explianed to him that he took my photo last year, why should I have another one done...he informed me that he had lost/deleted the photo's!! Ahah I had another bandwagon to jump on, I asked him why he never contacted me with this revelation that more personal information had gone missing..he gave me some crap about his pc etc etc, then when I went into work on Saturday night there was a big box with completed forms sitting on the desk with the words "Strictly confidential when complete" on the top of each sheet.

Needless to say all the passwords and security questions were available for all to see. That is why I am refusing to give any more pseronal information until I am convinced that the relevant security procedures are in place to make sure that my personal information stays personal..

I like it!!!!!

Royal Mail managers really are a bunch of incompetent fools.

In my office i found someone's sick note left on the photocopier!!!! Some dumb f*!k manager had photo copied it and totally forgot to remove it from the glass plate!!

They do say everyone has the right to be stupid, but Royal Mail managers abuse that privilege.

We've had no choice in the matter... with out the card you can't get in our building. The barrier won't lift and the doors won't unlock. Ive never been asked to produce it though. So upto now its a fancy key!
Remember, the way you do you job will affect colleagues for years to come - if you cut corners to do it quick, they will be expected to as well....and then RM will add extra work to fill the gaps.
