Is there an agreement that if you have been on a duty after 'X' amount of time it gets signed over to you? Heard rumours it might be a year and others say there is no such agreement.
Anyone know anything more solid?

its in 2007 pay&mod somewhere,if you are placed on a vacant duty but are not signed to it then after 12 months it goes up for signing on a seniority basis,the idea is that in the intervening 12 months Royal Mail hope that the amount of hours needed for that duty have dropped so they can change a FT duty into a PT duty etc....well thats my reading of it
