Vacant duties will normally go on seniority of any applicants.

to allow a shift pattern change, your full time duty is selected to go part time. However, at the same time 3 full time vacancies are posted. Should/would you get priority on these 3 duties? thanks
youve been displaced. unless theres a full office resign you will get 1st pick of vacancies if you are the most senior displaced person.

so, does my 'displaced' status get me priority over someone who already has a duty for more than 6 months? or am i still bottom of the pile? thanks for your reply
Yes if he has not been displaced.

If he has he must be more senior AND apply.

if you are the only displaced person you will have 1st pick on all vac's. duties can can be left vacant for a max of 6 month's, so someone may have been on a vacancie for 6 month's without having picked it.

What if you have been on a vacant duty over a year, does it get signed to you? Got this question in another thread but you seem to know your stuff. :Applause

ive heard the arguement for being given a duty if you have performed it over a year but havent personally seen it myself. all the answers are in the way forward agreement, resourcing section, which you can find on this site.

THE WAY FORWARD
Where a full time post is advertised internally, it will be available to all full time employees and part time employees, who have opted for full time employment, in that resourcing unit. The posts will be filled on the basis of “most senior individual”. Where a part time post is advertised internally, it will be available to all employees as above and filled in the same way.

5 6 The resulting vacancy will be temporarily filled by a reserve, a surplus employee, a transferee from within the wider resourcing area or another resourcing area or by direct recruitment in line with the process above. When the number of consequential vacancies in the resourcing unit reaches 5%, or after a period of six months following the last such exercise (if earlier), the posts will be advertised in the resourcing unit, en bloc and filled on the basis of seniority. If this results in any further vacancies, these will be filled, using the same process as above.
Having said all that we've always given any displaced members first shot at any vacancies.
Maybe we were wrong, really don't care,we'll still do it that way,to me it seems fairer.
