Originating Post Office - Help needed

Post by Immesa »

Hi all,
I've received 2 parcels from an unknown sender recently.
I would like to know whether I can identify the post office the user used to send me the parcels from.
On the parcels it states that it has come from B17 in Birmingham.
In that post code region there are at least 8 different post offices and are relatively widespread from each other.

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

No chance I'm afraid unless it was a Recorded item, or one with tracking.

Maybe someone on here could explain how the code numbers on Horizon labels might identify the branch, otherwise you might need to go to Quinton and take the parcels round the eight Post Offices there to see if the staff recognise them.

The 6-digit code in the bottom-left is the FAD code which identifies the individual Post Office. On the example shown at http://theosphilatelygb.blogspot.co.uk/ ... label.html, the FAD code is 224422.

I don't think there's a publicly available list of FAD codes so best bet might be to try the general enquiries number for the Post Office on 08457 22 33 44

The FAD code as others have suggested is 23201
Could this be an indicator as to where the originating po may be.
And the item was special delivery.
Thanks.

If it was sent through a PO then a special should have an acceptance scan on this page http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
