Tracked items, how do you do them in a morning?

Two of us who do firms deliveries start at 6am & have to scan up to 6 yorks of the damn things when they arrive, then dish them out to everyone before we can start preping our delivery, just wondered how the rest of the country does them?

If you can do the tracked and your delivery in time then they will keep you doing it to stop you making too much time.

We have someone scan them in and put them in the yorks for the duties to collect as they're going out the door.

They get done in the registered locker. Also you know the purple stickers showing its a tracked item,if there are any missing which is normally the majority of items,they have to stick a purple tracked label on each one. This really slows the process down. Does any other DO have to do this?

We have 2 blue eyed boys in at 4 o'clock scanning them!!

Saying that the firms deliveries jobs are a joke in our office, disappear at 12 o' clock during the week, they get done at 10 o'clock on a Saturday!! Not due off 2 o'clock!! They don't absorb, bosses petrified of 'em.

Our Firms drivers scan them, stick the purple stickers on and strike a line through the TRACKED word with a crayon to identify that they have been scanned.

drivers throw packets and parcels then tracked items are done like this,
one driver scans the item
one driver marks across the number
and one driver throws the item in the right parcel area.
the other drivers do the packet frame at the moment.
this will change when the missort run comes back or whenever our managers find a big enough office
to cope with the missorts and parking of the vehicles,at the moment north london has no missorts as the
managers are picking straws as where the next missort office will be.

More indoor work = less outdoor work, theres only so much you can do , so don't worry about it. I for one wouldn't mind scanning in tracked items, I would do it all morning, and then any remaining time I would carry on with my prep and delivery, which wouldn't be much.
