It will reduce workforce but as we are short staffed in delivery this will means less absorbing and working 6 days a week but more workload over 5 days and hopefully better balanced workload. It will be good news for our body long term but not good news for people who love floating week off perks.

If Congress didn't require the USPS to fund the pensions for postal workers who aren't even born yet, its "loss" would be a whole lot smaller. It's a sad day for small towns across America.

It's going to happen and personally I can't wait. Nobody wants to be delivering mail on a saturday afternoon when your family are at home and also there are other things to be doing. They should at the very least bring back the early finish on a Sat, shove the competitors mail til Monday

The main USA mail delivery company is in big financial trouble..

Reporting on CNBC channel this week saying they will go into debt in month.... losing $35 million a month... talks in progress to stop the hemerage of the loss by.... stopping saturday letter deliveries from August ... saving $2 billion a year.
specials and parcels will not be affected...

Maybe the Royal Mail will follow suit if the usa drop saturday letter deliveries... if massive savings can be made ..it would seem obvious
