glory hunting postpersons who would shop in or stab in back their colleagues at any opportunity to try and make themselves important.
now bearing in mind they are still opg,s and cwu members is there not a conflict of interest here
do we have to take instruction from these persons

rem they get a whopping big 30 quid exta a week to do linos work from them as to take pressure off them

Whilst reps they managed to sign away several local actions without ever consulting the members. The later starts and Longs and Shorts both introduced and signed off by these two without any consultation with the members.

well imo they are the lowest of the low. surely there should be some kind of union rule against reps taking up acting positions. maybe a time restriction or sending them to a different office, because these guys may know personal things about some of the staff

Same at our place, last 2 are now acting managers. What a way for manager to get exactly what they want by sneakily helping the rep into management whilst they are still a rep.

for many years it has always been said that acting managers should be kicked out of the union.as for reps turning into guvnors they are worst than strike breakers and yes once again i will be told i cannot use the scab word but from day one of entering this job thats what there been called and by area reps and divisional london reps.nowdays acting managers or planning managers walk back into there office as delivery staff as though nothing has happened then something goes wrong and they go running to the union rep for help. let them rot!.

We have an unwritten rule in our office,if it happens while you're wearing the shirt and tie,speak to the CMA because they "represent" managers.
Manager,even "Acting" is not a CWU represented grade in Royal Mail.
If it happens while they wear our uniform we'll represent them.

Royal Mail also had an "unwritten" rule that Acting Managers don't Act in their parent office for obvious reasons,mostly being told to f**k off a lot.
I don't think that applies anymore unfortunately.

They might also have ambition and worry about things like "career advancement".

People's situations change over time as well.
They might have done years as a good rep but need to change.
I don't think they should be judged on that but on whether they are a good or bad manager.
