Cars Off Deliveries - Only when CWU are not around !!!

I'm bouncing after hearing that on Saturday a postie used his own car to deliver a walk after manager asked him to use his own vehicle instead of van share.
We went live 3 weeks ago, the RM insurance bond ceases when new delivery methods are introduced. I showed the line manager Removal of Private Cars on Delivery only Wednesday !!!
If the postman had a crash and injured himself or others surely the Line Manager would have been taken down the conduct code.

It still goes on of course, usually in my experience from fellow delivery workers who see fit to offer their services and vehicle to ingratiate themselves with management and become a docket king.

Possibly if there were witnesses when he asked the guy to use his car,if not he would probably deny it.
In the end though the poor injured postie would follow him down the same path,being told to do something you know you're not supposed to do is only a partial defence when it comes to the conduct code and no defence at all when it comes to criminal charges for driving without valid insurance.

Whether or not he had an accident the manager should be taken down the Conduct Code.

Strangely some sector managers in Scotland take a very dim view of their underlings behaving in this manner.

i am rep at my office and yes it happens as does a lot of other things when I am off. not unusual to get phone calls on my day off. had to put stage 1 in writing to get it stopped.
