In fact I can't recall any noise or information on a pay rise for this year. However, we usually either get it or its backdated to April, (though not always).

No news but the unions are probably talking about it. we might get 2 per cent payrise. probably about 9 pounds a week. Hope there will be a decent bonus and payrise next time. As we hadn't had a bonus for a while apart from Christmas and Transformation bribe) Don't forget Colleagueshares fiasco which left us with nothing.

In real terms we are earning less each year despite having a "rise" and don't forget the 2010 agreement actually cut the pay of a large number of posties when the delivery supplement was introduced instead of pay per leaflet, we are a long way behind the UK average.

The average annual earnings of full-time workers in the UK rose by 1.4% to £26,500 in the year to April 2012.

The figures have been published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in its annual survey of hours and earnings.

There was a cut in the real value of pay, however, as inflation was higher during the same period, at 3.5%.

And the ONS data also reveals that inflation has outstripped the rise in average pay for the past 12 years.

The survey results show that since April 2000, average annual pay for full-time workers has risen by 40%, from £18,848 to £26,500.

In that time, inflation, as measured by changes in the retail prices index, has gone up by 43%.

However, the trend has accelerated in the past five years since the onset of the international banking and financial crisis, the consequent recession in the UK and the imposition of austerity measures by the government.

In just five years since April 2007, prices have risen by 18%, while average annual earnings have gone up by just 10%.

That has left wages and salary increases lagging behind inflation by 8% in just five years.

Due to the rise in tax allowance come April we should all be roughly £6 a week better off I think? Payrise on top of that for any amount would be nice!

Nor can I - I think they'll use it as a carrot to sweeten privatisation. Problem is with the 10% shares to staff and the spin they'll put on what we might get paid from it, I think unless the CWU are very careful the pay rise could have more strings than Gerry Anderson ever had, and it would still get voted through my the general membership.

Well here we are in February and the annual pay rise is due in just a few short weeks and the communication from the union is ...well.....deafening. So who thinks it's going to break the bank - any takers over 2.5%, any takers it's agreed before September - you know the usual, hang fire on f-all and then hit them with a nice £80 of back pay and watch them fall over themselves accepting.

Hey I might be wrong, on the strength of the profits recovery maybe the union have put forward a compelling case for 5%+...........wait a mo, was that a pig flying @ head height

The union put our Union subs up 15% so therefore they should be fighting the same figure for us, what's good for the Goose is good for the Gander...
