Some stats from the bullying survey..
Bullying & Harassment in Deliveries
We have now carried out an analysis of the reports that have been sent to the Outdoor dept. These show that..
1. 87.5% of respondents were male and 12.5% female.
2. 17% were pre revision and 83% post revision
3. 79.5% were duty holders, 11.2% floaters and 9.3% reserves.
4. 78% were full time and 22% part time.
5. 71.4% were told they had to work overtime and 28.6% were not.
6. 62.4% were denied payment for overtime they had worked and 37.6% were paid.
7. 63.85 were threatened with conduct if they did not complete their delivery and had told their manager they could not complete on time. 36.2% were not threatened.
8. The main issues raised in the complaints sent to HQ were 61.8% complained about management style/bullying, 44% about being threatened, 39.2% about comments about their performance, 37% about withholding of overtime payments and 32% about problems following revisions.
There were many more and all the stats will be circulated to Branches in due
course.
Discussions are now taking place with Royal Mail to do something about the way our members are being treated. We have requested a Joint Statement but Royal Mail are
slow coming forward on this point

f**k me.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Re: Some stats from the bullying survey..
Why does everyone in Royal Mail feel it is acceptable to bully i have never worked for a company that is as bad for it,In our office the management have had grown men cry it maybe something they are proud of but there is meant to be things in place to stop this kind of harrasement and when men tell them about there overtime you would think we were taking the money out of there pockets what has this company came to i hope that allows this to happen what do you guys think of this and us as a union what can we do to stamp it out(no pun intended lol)

This basically needs to come out in the press. We need to let the press know about the bullying and harassment culture within Royal Mail, which should be unacceptable surely in 2013. Never known a company like it I really haven't and I've worked for a few.

Re: Some stats from the bullying survey..
they will still be in denial as it will effect bonuses.
take away the large bonus culture and things will change for the better.
thats the carrot that gives incentive to bully.

Too late it did happen in Dorset Mail Centre 3/4 years ago!sgt, rock wrote:Sooner or later something is going to happen, one of these bullying managers is going to push the buttons of the wrong person and it could get very nasty. It's not something I want to see happen but its going to. Royal mail could end up with at best an injured manager and at worst, who knows. They have to take this seriously. I've never suffered it myself but you see the pressure being applied, especially to new entrants and part timers who are worried contracts may not be renewed.
Bullying manager was attacked in the office by an OPG, after months of bullying the OPG snapped, attacked said manager with metal table leg.
Seen the pictures not very nice. Perhaps RM should distribute the photos to all managers.

Re: Some stats from the bullying survey..
Sorry Bob but you have been discussing this with Royal Mail since before Christmas, and fck all has been done about it. How amazing it is for a joint statement to be issued if it reflects in the favour of Royal Mail. Start doing the job you are paid heavily for and issue a cwu statement in every newspaper. Moya Greene will then start to be impressed with you and know you are for real and not some lacky who is diluting the effect of the above figures and hoping the problem will go away.fishtank wrote:Bullying & Harassment in Deliveries

Re: Some stats from the bullying survey..
It's a bit like an alcoholic they will deny their is a problem in royalmails culture and say it is only a hiccup and we have full control I doubt it as they are the problem all these cost savings and bonus related revisions are the real problem!. Moya Greene is the cost cutting queen that all all our senior managers dream of every night they must get off on her rather than their wife's makes me sick this business once public service!.fishtank wrote:Bullying & Harassment in Deliveries
