How soon can you be referred to Atos?

Also can anyone tell me how your treated for stress, Anxiety & depression by Atos? what's peoples experiences in this matter?

Ask your manager for referral or number to ring ATOS, some people have good things to say about them others not so good all I would advise is explain everything in every detail and take the advice that may give give you.... ATOS normally formally write to you giving you a date and time of telephone assessment if they have your mobile number they also text you this info I have known this to happen within a week.
They will talk through your issues and guide you towards Proffesional help.

Are you able to go to the shops ?

I replied yes.....as i have to eat.

They replied.....well if you are able to go to the shops you are fit for work.

The stress i had doubled and i flew off the handle.

Why cant the assessment be by email rather than phone - then you have time to think about your answers ?

How anyone can assess someone over the phone is beyond me. You can tell them anything, they can wrongly hear something you say, its a receipe for a disaster.

Atos made many recommendations for me.... only for royal mail managers to ignore them

My atos report was ignored by management over the last 18 months,

I put a grievence in,

I went off with depression for the last 5 weeks and finally through Atos got a meeting with a RM Manager who deals with trying to get folks back to work, I am not due back for another 2 weeks , but the manager has actually gone against my manager and set up a duty in the repick that with be ring fenced , but I agreed to go back next week only if my dom agrees to it,

when i got home and looked on the calendar it is my waddingtons week off

next week so if all goes well I will be back and should only have a week left of old duty, I liked my old duty walking/cycle but could not see an end to the harrassment

Rm must pay a fortune to Atos

My union guys have helped me a lot but it has been really stressful the last 18 months, and still got to go back to a disciplinery action about cutting off,

If a manager is forcing you to work against medical advice, then I'd be taking legal advice.

A manager can't force you to do anthing.
Anyone who doesn't have the conkers to tell him "no I am not doing that" won't have the conkers to instigate legal proceedings.

Exactly. You must be mad to accept a managers word over your doctors, or even ATOS. My manager tried to rush me back a few years back, and I said I would be holding him legally responsible if it aggravated the condition. Nothing further was said, and I stuck to the rehab. A bonus of said conflict was he barely speaks to me at all now. Don't think we have exchanged words in months. Result.

The trouble with your statement is that RM have moved on since then,they don't give a shite if you do take them to court, discrimination is one of the hardest things to prove in a court,it's far better for them to bully posties back with veiled threats of IHR and stoppage of pay if you continue to stay off.... and their solicitors Weightmans are certainly not arsed as they are on a big retainer waiting to fleece Royal Mail even more.
All they will say is that they took advice from their occupational health advisors who are `specialist` in work place health,it will be then up to you to go through an extremely harrowing tribunal or county court case.

If you seriously think that the union will back you up as well your seriously deluded,so that leaves you to pay good money to hire a lawyer or of course do it yourself....I'm available for a small fee if you want to put your ill advised stance to the fore now.
