I'll let you into a secret.
I was once in the Courier.
It was a long time ago and i was just working away in the background, not grinning like a fool up front....but i'm still scarred by the experience.

Edit And i've been in the CWU Voice. :silenced

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

It,s not the photographs that bug me, but the written script that they put down to them extolling the virtues of world class mail. They should put a couple of posties in that have been involved in this waste of money and who also have differing views to the stooges that they parade in there. Perhaps I am wrong and all who are involved in this marvel have seen the light.

It's not the catalogued posed, false smile that gets under my skin..it's the blatant Mr Royal Mail WCM styling they maintain.

In our office I could count on one hand the amount of staff who wear their I.D badges on a lanyard around their necks, a high visibility waistcoat indoors and take a copy of the Courier on holiday with them ..what sad belter ,takes a copy of the Courier with them in the faint hope of getting their picture published @ If you did that in our office, you'd be hung by your shoes laces from a lamp post, with the Courier sticking outta ya jacksie !

I've written to the Courier, several of our the lads have, criticising the work ethic of the management and the company in general. But instead of replying, the letters page is crammed with made up ones from " Stan from Wigggles Bottom -on the Wold - On my route my customers are always asking me for more Door-2-Doors, but sadly, I can only deliver the seven lots I'm supplied with weekly, could we please have more ?"

They'll never answer a direct question, unless it's about how good the job is.. I can't bring myself to read the fawning articles about how a rural office in Nippleshire all turned up during a flood and not only made sure everyone got their mail, but that they helped deliver two babies and did it all for free. The Courier is B*******s..as Pub lice :no no Enemy once said .."Don't believe the hype" !!

I used to read Courier but grew sick of the distorted view pedalled, especially as our revision was being planned two years ago. After that I only read the letters which handily moved to the back page so I didn't have to open it, but now I don't even bother unwrapping it. I'll probably start returning them. :wave

We never got to watch it much as we took the batteries out and put old flat ones in place in the controller it took them six months till they realised or got the budget to get new ones!. :dance
