Parcel Vans being stolen in your area?

We have heard of a lot of mail vans(not just Royal Mail) in the Leicestershire area being stolen and was wondering if this is a nationwide thing?

They can't steal them if you don't leave the keys in them so this should be another wake up for the corner cutters.

Just today one of our parcel drivers (a 30yr guy) left the van running whilst he was attempting to deliver a tracked item. We was a good 20 feet from the van as well. :roll:

they went to nick a van the other week but left it, due to the distribution driver not filling it up with derv.

Been a lot going missing in the DN area. Especially the hire vans. A lot have the keys left in them though. Hello P45.

I regularly see parcel men, both RM and others, leave their engines running while delivering. Some people just seem incapable of learning! :arrrghhh

To be fair not strictly true. Ok its a lot harder for the low life to steal it, but you are 100% right that as long as you followed RMs guidelines and the van is still stolen at least its harder for the other low life's to sack you. :Very Happy

We had a spate in London just before Christmas. Vans, bags, anything they could get really. Seems to have stopped now thankfully.
I staged a Roger Moore impersonator festival in my local village. There were a lot of eyebrows raised, I can tell you.

A guy at my DO left the keys in a van on a packet duty, van was stolen and found on the other side of town minus packets etc. We expected him to get the sack but he survived. Couple of years later and he has just been made up to a manager!

Perhaps they couldnt find a mail van to nick so they took Paul Scholes car instead while he was deicing the windscreen :left: :left:

I had my Royal Mail bike stolen once, it was all locked up as well, now who the hell would that?
