Yes - if they give you a choice of staying or going and banking. If you elect to go home early then you are basically accepting the claw back. If you stay eventually they get fed up and kick you out. Its happened more than once to me - being kicked out that is.

we having a barney about it, they insist on time back, loads have worked it already,
onion meeting next week to decide if they screw us a little or a lot
i went to my nearest d/o today, like monday, they'd all been sent home today but their gaffa was told to drive me to my office where we delivered but was worse than monday!,
basically if we'd have made up the hours beforehand they would have gladly sent us home today if we did free o/t the next shift ....and a few days after when o/t would have been booked regardless
