It's a Branch Ballot.
You don't get a vote.
It is assumed that your rep has discussed everything with you,taken on board the opinion of the members in your office and voted accordingly at the Branch.
The result of this Branch vote is then applied to the number of members in the Branch so if the Branch votes yes and has 3000 members that's 3000 yes votes.

My Branch voted 'NO', but with under 700 members, it made little impact. We have some very serious reservations about this new agreement.

The result of this Branch vote is then applied to the number of members in the Branch so if the Branch votes yes and has 3000 members that's 3000 yes votes.

I asked our rep if he had been contacted by branch - the answer was no, nor had he been sent a copy of the agreement to actually familiarise himself with it. He also said he hadn't been informed of the liaison meetings for months - now tell people to get involved.........the truth of the matter is they don't want the membership involved. It should be a given that branch look to the membership for direction not the other way round, rather looks like it's a question of "elected by the members and should be for the members" but it sure doesn't look that way.

I think most reps,if they are honest do.
I don't like the idea of members being taken into a room on their own for an "informal" review with no guidelines on what might be said or signed for.
I think it's asking for trouble and given management's record on bullying,it's a bit embarrassing to hand them the perfect opportunity on a plate.

Pretty much the same here,although I did put the vote no thing up from up from here,many people where shocked how s**t it is and could see through the throw them a bone with the six months thing,still our yes man of a rep was all for it....what can you do?

7. Can an employee take a rep to an informal discussion?
No. The employee will have sufficient time to consult with their union representative
but this is an informal discussion which either the manager or the employee can
request. The employee is entitled to be represented at any formal meeting.

I seem to be in the minority in this forum in favour of it but the majority out there.
