Any thoughts as what is regarded as a reasonable amount of training on single van rural rounds for someone who doesn't know the area of delivery at all.
We are due to deploy soon and there is a lot of confliction from management on how much training is needed.

On all the rurals that I did,I had a minimum of three days training,the first two days consisted of the duty holder doing the driving with me making some notes and delivering some of the mail myself.On the third day,I did the driving and delivered I would guess 90% of the mail.Blue Nose wrote:Any thoughts as what is regarded as a reasonable amount of training on single van rural rounds for someone who doesn't know the area of delivery at all.

Our s stopped all training , even on rurals. We had our float men having to do their 5 different rural duties blind after our revision. As you can imagine not alot got done and it was left to the duty holder to clear the next day.
