Transfering an application

i am about to start a part time position as a postie next week a fair distance away from where i live. Just found out there is a position a lot closer to where i live come up and its the same job description.
Would i be able to transfer my job offer to the more local one as it would save me a lot of travel and hassle?
Any advice appreciated

You could ask if this is possible, as it is not that unreasonable request. But wait to see what others say first.
