We can forget it.
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Moya has not had time to consider the pay increase because all of her and the CWU time is being taken up scrutinising the B&H reports that were submitted to her, in order that a joint statement can be released by the end of this week. :so there :so there :so there

It would be foolish for anyone to assume a pay rise in April or otherwise the most important thing is not the money but what you will have to do to get it if you get it.!

we never get a pay rise on time anyway,if we get one at all it usually has to be backdated.

There are talks scheduled for after the new year covering a range of things including pay.
What will come of these talks is anyone's guess...
Resolution?
Dispute?
More talks?
I think a short term,1 year,no strings pay deal might be the best idea...somewhere between 3% and 4%.
Nobody knows where we'll be next year so "jam tomorrow" shouldn't even be considered.
If it's a 3 year deal of the century we're screwed. :cuppa

Rommagic, I agree that inflation linked payrises should be part of statute. Never a better means of any government wanting to keep prices to a minimum. We then might see them work harder to beat down on oil prices. However at least we have been getting a payrise. There are plenty that haven,t had one for 2 or 3 years.

Moya said the first 2 phases of talks have been completed with a further 2 phases to commence.
I can see 1% being offerd :left: Which I hope the union will tell them to shove where the sun don't shine, got to be over 3 %!!!

Talks have commenced this week on a multiple of issues including pay. The other issues include the Price Waterhouse cooper stuff,SWW , payment of the outstanding lump sums, pace of change revisons , pay , pensions , mail centres and network and parcels strategy. in additon there was a heated debate yesterday on the bullying and harrassment where the union now has close on 800 indivdual cases. Royal Mail attempted to trivialise the issues and I think if things are not taken more seriously next week then the union will consider our own response which will be consulting the members and informing the media and the equal Opps commission.

Of course on Royal Mail's. Agenda is also upper decide , performance management ie standards and they want more flexibility.

Anyone who believe that pay will be an easy issue this year is a fool ! Privitisation , the government and the fact that delivery revisons have failed to make the savings Royal Mail wanted and the latest reports from price Waterhouse indicate that in many places they have over estimated the savings they believed they could get.

Remember pay is a contractual issues and unlike the attendance procedure which is not contractural you the member will get a vote on any pay deal.

But anyone who is being honest and know other people in other firms the pay rise we got this year 3.5 was one of thr better in the public and private sector but of course we all want more. remember in this day and age there is no longer a pay deal without strings.

remember prior to 2010 agreement national basic pay stood at £347.61 for a 40 hour week , basic pay which now includes the supplement now stands at £393.73 including the supplement. For the record pau went up in 2010 by 2% and 1.4% in 2011 and of course increase the permanent additon to basic pay.
