Rip off vending machines: what do you think.

I don't know about you but i'm sick of the rip off vending machines in our office. 70p for a bar of chocolate and 60p for a bag of crisps. if they put the price down they mite get more sales. Total rip off.

I've worked in my office for over 20 years and have never used the vending machines because I simply can't afford to. I buy multi-packs of crisps/chocolate bars/tins of pop etc. from Aldi and take some into work each day....far, far cheaper.

The main stumbling block is finding enough places around the house to secrete the stuff safely away from the rest of the greedy so-and-so's in my family so that I'm not short of goodies before shopping day comes around again!

Also, and this may carry more weight than I'd like to admit to, the bloke from Quadrant who's replenished our machines ever since I've been a postie is a complete a%£!$@?e.

Thats the one that gets me - you can get 24 of the very same 500ml bottles in Farmfoods for £8 (for those who drink Pepsi/7 up/Tango)

And yet we are forced to use Quadrant and cannot install our own cheaper versions from other suppliers. They do of course come under the umbrella of the CWU and when I complained about the cost I received an email from the union saying it would cost jobs and that the price structure was reasonable - I'll bet a pound to a pinch of s**t they don't have them @ 150 Broadway.

I was in the local take away and noticed that they were charging 85p for a can of coke, I can't believe it's cheaper to buy it there instead of a vending machine but that's RM for you, overcharging for everything.
It's no wonder that it's barely used in my office anymore.
