Question about leaving a car, whilst on shift.

Been doing some casual delivery work with an outside agency, normally I just park in the normal staff car park with no issue.

Basically, a regular posties, takes a mini bus, and about 6 casuals to the area that needs doing, and we deliver, and every other time, the mini bus takes us back to base (not a surprise) but last Saturday, I was asked to park my car in a lay-by, for the length of the shift (4 - 5 hours), as the mini bus was not going back to base, non drivers being dropped off elsewhere in Peterborough.

The fact the lay-by was about 15 miles away from where I was doing delivery, further worried me.

ok my car was fine, but I was not at all impressed to be asked to do this, it would only have taken one chancer to happen upon the car, for the outcome to have been different, and as im only 3rd party, it could have been very costly.

Am I wrong to have never even considered that this might happen, and to have very serious thoughts about not doing anymore work with the Royal Mail?

I honestly do not know, obviously us Casuals are not privy to all the inner workings of the Royal Mail

DFS, SofaWorld, choose your Furniture store, Sale was still on Saturday and how you going to get it home? tie it on the roof?

(Not that I'd condone anything of the sort, oh no)
