DOM told us today that we could not cut off any more. We will have to guess a time to cut off prepping so as to allow enough time to Finnish our duties. We told him put it in writing and we would look at it. The new buzz word is streaming. Another amazing idea from RM DUM.

I would put the ball back in his court and tell him that he is the manager and it is up to him to call when it is time to finish prepping, then if he has underestimated then you will still be bringing mail back, and if he has overestimated and you finish early, again his problem, not yours. Do not get into a guessing game for him. He is the manager, let him manage.He is paid to do this.

As a manager he has a responsibility to use all available resources to ensure that the mail is delivered.
That should include everything from offering overtime to bringing in casuals and even if necessary bringing in management to deliver it.
If he tries all that and fails that's acceptable
If however he is telling you to stop prepping the mail at a certain time and leave the rest under your frame it is obvious he has no intention of attempting to deliver the mail.
If word of that practice were to get to senior management he would be lucky to keep his job.

I presume duties are cutting off because they are too big so if the managers instruction was followed everyday the only thing that would achieved would be an ever growing backlog, what a fool . Appendix 3 holds the field.

Streaming is not permissable wilful delay as Fishtank posted managers have been sacked for allowing this. The OP should maybe email Moya and see what happens.

Just ask your manager to put it in writing what he/she wants you to do, asking said manager to explain the term streaming and what that requires you to do,ask the said manager to sign in his/her name in print and to sign it,see what he/she does.
I like anyone else on here will tell you that a manager wont do that but explain until such time it is in writing you will not change what you are doing.
