pay rise 2013.
should be the same percentage as our gas and electricity bills have gone up by.

to be honest after the last deal or cuts we have had i would rather not have nothing.
it would save our union and royal mail talking crap for a few months, then telling us its the best agreement
they can get us and selling us down the river.

My biggest fear is that both Royal Mail and the CWU will use privatisation and employee shares in their own way to tag it to a pay rise, and if so I can see it getting messy.

Lets hope at least one side at least consults its members/employees.

Well that will be a figure plucked from the ether then, having no bearing on the business in reality, volumes of mail, packets or anything else - the people who come up with these figures I am sure show exactly where savings can be made - the same ones who came up with BT2010 and that has made how much in savings. The office I work in, prior to BT2010 had circa 22 vehicles and 145 +/- staff, we now have 46 vehicles and 160 staff, 16 operational HCTs, none before, with the need for about 8 spares because they break down so frequently and somewhere in the region of 48 LCTs, none previously, 2 CSS machines with a night shift of 4, none previously...............now if that's a saving I'll eat cow sh*t. Oh and Royal Mail state that there hasn't been the amount of savings expected - really?

That didn't apply in 2009/10 so i'm not sure how it would apply now.
Our pay rise will be how much the union believes Royal Mail can afford.
That's not an attack on either party,that's just how it always works.

Fish all pay rises are put to the members that's is within the rules of the union. So it will ultimately be what the members vote for and yes they have been occasions when the members have rejected the pay rise.
