Off sick, ATOS question.

i broke my wrist last year, dom referred me to atos to get a rehab plan but said if I could get a "fit note" from my GP I could come back in on light duties, however we were really short of staff so he was probably desperate.

just something to be aware of, even if your doctor and ATOS both say fit for light duties only ie indoor sorting, your dom can say no to this and insist you stay on sick and still accrue sick days until you are fit to resume your duty. just because you are willing to work and do a different job unfortunately doesnt matter if he wants to be an arse about it

if you had a disability covered under the equalities act then the situation would be different again but as its only a temporary injury he can say no to your return to work until you are fit to do your duty.

so unless the callers office is understaffed or they need an extra bod indoors you may be out of luck

I know why you've posted it,i know it happens,not having a London big head here although i'm sure other areas are the same as us,but no way does a manager down here ignore that bollox and put us back out on the sick.

Funny I thought that though my dom picks what he wants to use from an atos report but ignores other parts,

When I mentioned this to atos a week ago they said at the end of the day it is only recomendations and not mandatory,

So I see it works both ways ,

would be interesting to see who is right or wrong Atos or dom ?

he even hid one atos report because he didnt like that they said "amended duties"
he got hammered in the tribunal
