Doctors appoinment

A week ago I went for a bloodtest and was called back to see the doctor about the result,there is something wrong with my blood,low iron and the red and white cells are a little bit smaller than they should be.The doctor checked me over for lumps and didn't find anything thank god,but she told me to book another bloodtest sooner rather than later to test for certain types of proteins,there was no afternoon appointments available and my next day off is on Christmas day so I couldn't clarify it with my Dim first so I have booked it for first thing Friday morning are you allowed to do this?.I will tell him tomorrow but I had no real choice as health has to be the main concern.
