Hi, looking for advice on what to do or what's happens next if the complaint gets made
Working in a delivery office and the callers office opens at 7am. The queue is like an execution already. A customer is waiting in the huge queue to drop off mail but requires a signature for it but time is marching on and decides they have had enough of waiting. Whilst serving a customer the person decides to march up and demand I stop dealing with the customer and serve them I said I will serve you in a minute as I'm dealing with the customer.
I go to get a parcel for current customer and my colleague serves the irate customer and takes the mail from them. An hour later the irate customer appears back wanting to make a complaint but of racial abuse.
I have witnesses and colleagues that will back up that i never said anything out of place.
I have no problem with anyone regardless of their religion etc been working with the company for years and neve had any questions asked about my behaviour with customers.
I'm worried about being falsely accused of racially abusing someone which I would never dream of doing.
No complaint has been made yet but I'm worried for my job even although I have done nothing wrong.

Re: Advice Required
in today's society its a shame but some people play the racist card because they can and they know that people will be all over it, even though nothing has been said or done against them.
you were right in what you did, no one should be allowed to queue jump unless it was done by someone in the queue itself, you say you have got witnesses etc, then you have nothing to worry about as far as I can see.
don't let it worry you and enjoy whats left of the weekend.

if your office keeps hold of the p739 notices id maybe advise digging through them to find the customers in the queue at time of alleged incident as then if goes any further you will be able to advise dom to contact these people as they would be impartial witnesses which would be able to back up your story

Say they were being racist whilst they demanded being served first and see what happens!
