Should RM take into account the casual, temporary, fixed term service, when calculating long service?
I know that most local governments take it into account, but why doesn't RM. I thought there had been some legislation where employers had to take it into account?
If they did, then my 15 years service would have been back in May, but according to RM i will have to wait until 2016 to get my leave up to 5 weeks, and achieve my 15 years service, all because of fixed term contracts.
Can anyone tell me if they should be taking the fixed-term and casual service into account ? and what i can do about it if they should ?

We've had this before and i think the answer may be yes for some of it ,the above is a quote from Fishtank,hopefuly he'll provide the doc it came from.unless it's holiday entitlement which can include breaks of service...and any other PO service...in any function

when i called HR to query this, thy just fobbed me off, saying 'No, we dont take it into account, see your line manager about it.'
