ive been ill for about a week but worked through it or so i thought then saturday took a turn for the worse phoned in monday a.m to say i wouldnt be in ,i did not today as it was my day off when about two this afternoon my line manager knocked the door and asked what was wrong with me and would i be in tomorrow ,are they allowed to do that and why the need to do that ,ive not lost a day this year , he made no other comment or apology ?

I didnt think so ,also health and safety checks when they come out and watch you work ive had 3 0r 4 this year , 2 by the same line manager in past 3 months is that normal . i think until this year i had 1 in 4 years

I would expect your rep to request a meeting with management to make it clear that unannounced home visits are not part of Royal Mail's sick absence contact strategy and are completely unacceptable to the office as a whole.
I would expect your rep to get an agreement from management that these visits will cease and a personal apology is made to you.
I would expect your rep to help you fill in the grievance form.

hi fishtank have sent you a message regarding this matter , i have taken out the grievance and it is going ahead but more disturbingly i found out today that our office rep is stepping down at the end of this month leaving the office with no representation , which i dont think any one is aware of where does that leave us any ideas there are a few in the office that talk the talk but none that will walk the walk ,

If no-one is willing to take the role on in an individual basis it might be worth trying to organise some kind of committee to share the responsibility.
Sometimes a rep in a neighbouring D.O. will be willing to deal with the more serious issues or as a last resort there is always your area or sub area delivery rep.
