Mail Centre v D.O.

There is more pressure on the D.O managers, they are the front line. If the mail centre managers fail generally the mail just gets sent out late for the D.oS to deal with it, that day or the following day. Plus who want to slog around a delivery for 3.5+ hours or sit indoors nice and warm .
More hours need to be put into D.Os with more walks (even if it did mean more part-timers). But it aint going to happen. I've worked in both the mail centre and DOs.

Compare that with my (and probably many others) experience of working in a D.O. where the managers constantly try to bully the posties, threatening them with the conduct code for every small infringement, constantly on peoples backs to work harder/faster, trying to whittle down peoples breaks to the bare minimum (we, like many other D.O.`s are on 20 mins 3 hours into our shift and 20 mins on the end, voted for by the workforce).

People who work their 8 hours are threatened with anything the DOM can muster from refusing them lieu days without real reason to messing them about on different duties using the "operational needs" scenario.
Any thoughts on this from my fellow posties?

Mail Centre all day long,not as easy as i thought it would be,but after 26 years in a delivery office the time had come for a change as the walks and driving duties are now beyond a joke resulting in a crap service for our customers of which i could no longer face on a daily basis.

The guy next to my frame is transferring to a MS after xmas.

He's done 15 years on deliver and he cant wait to go. He did a spell at the mail center earlier in the year and applied for a transfer straight away.
