It's A Fore-Gone Conclusion

Post by drb »

It's only a matter of time before this thing is going to go off big time.Let's be honest. If the London offices go out
than the country stops. As in 2003 a deal was reached within 14 days....hold tight for the ride!

Yep, i agree. It's not a matter now of "if", but when this goes off, i honestly believe this will be the demise of Crozier and Leighton.

It's clear from the RM website they have "contingency plans in place" which was stated last time around, so they have no notion of changing now.

The general public need to be made aware why exactly we're striking - not just reading BBC articles/websites or certain papers which portray us as lazy bastards, looking for a quick buck - nothing could be further from the truth.

The next time anyone reads a comment on a website slagging off posties as destroying the business with their demands, quickly point them in the direction of this site, or even better, link proper facts in your reply. I'm sick and tired of replying to some halfwit completely unaware why the strikes are occuring, but feels we are needlessly putting the business in jeopardy. We all know it's RM hierachy who are capable of doing that.

Keep hearing that we are ruining the business but the reality is that the main part of RM are its deliveries. The Swiss have been liberalised since 1993 and no-one has even attempted to set up deliveries there in all this time and that friggin country is tiny. Ergo, absolutely never, whilst USO exists will anyone set up rival deliveries on a broad scale here. Hence RM cannot go out of business. No other postal operator could afford to buy it. It cannot be privatised due to USO.
Therefore the Government have got a real headache here provided that we stick to our guns, but either way RM is not going anywhere so ignore all the rhetoric.
Also, it's impossible to make anyone redundant before modernisation because USO would be threatened. Modernisation cannot take place without the workforce, so the power still lies with us. :Applause

Do not under estimate the government.

They may use tendering as a weapon of part privatisation ie were opening up a new mail centre in Swindon and as you naughty boys and girls keep going on strike we will get TNT to run it instead.

This and any number of other tricks may be deployed by Brown and f**k off and f**k off.

Having said that there is still no reason to fear striking or any other action only we must always be aware of what's under the radar.

This is just how I feel and keep trying to put across to other work mates who are unsure as what to do. GO DOWN FIGHTING OR JUST LAY DOWN !!!!
Together we stand and united we won (well sort of !)
