Un-balloted Industrial Action Kirkby Delivery Office (L32 & L33)
We regret to have to advise that staff at the Kirkby Delivery Office have taken un-balloted industrial action again this morning. Deliveries of Special Delivery and Royal Mail Tracked items will be performed where possible, along with some collections from Post Office® branches,businesses and busier posting boxes. The Enquiry Office remains open until the usual time(noon) today, for customers to collect any items we have been unable to deliver in the area and for which we have left a ‘Something for you’ card. If we’re not able to collect business mail from customers in the area today, it can be taken to the nearest Post Office® branch for posting.
We’d like to apologise once again to customers in the L32 & L33 postcode area for the disruption being caused to our services and assure you that we’re doing all we can to return services to normal as quickly as possible.

i am sure union headquaters will give its normal backing in this dispute like all unoffical strikes.

Would like to know what's caused it but like you I wish them luck - I would imagine that the union are advising them to return to work, they can't OFFICIALLY do anything else.

Our staff at the Kirkby Delivery Office have returned to duty this morning. Efforts will now be made to return services to normal as quickly as possible. We will concentrate on ensuring that deliveries of Special Delivery and Royal Mail Tracked items are made as promptly as possible. Collections from all locations are expected to return to normal today. The Enquiry Office remains open until the usual time (noon) today, for customers to collect any items we have been unable to deliver in the area and for which we have left a ‘Something for you’ card. Once again we want to apologise to customers in the L32 & L33 postcode area for the disruption which has been caused to our services and assure them that we’re doing all we can to return services to normal as quickly as possible.
Preston went out this morning - believed to be the result of a suspension, though not confirmed - wouldn't like to bet on the odds of them going back tomorrow.
The dispute at Kirkby is connected with an ongoing local issue, We have invited the Union to continue working with us to explore every opportunity to resolve the concerns of our staff and we remain committed to the nationally agreed framework for resolving these issues.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
They will probably try and string it out over Christmas after which they will mess you around a known RM tactics, I suggest work to rule to apply pressure on them.

We,re out again on wednesday and thursday of this week in support of a colleague who has been issued with a 2 year suspended dismissal by an area manager who has since been moved from the area, can,t really say any more without risking the identity of the person involved.

The Communication Workers Union has called for a further period of industrial action on Monday 24 December at the Kirkby Delivery Office.
