This is pretty much what i did last year when the pavements were compacted ice. With spikies you could get round but slowly so i only did about half.

If you're unsure of anything you're asked to do STOP the conversation and call a witness, Union rep would be best, to hear what it is you're being asked to do - several instances where 'managers' have vermently denied saying such&such - These soddin' revisions (+ the office has relocated/amalgamated) has torn any pretence of decency/honesty out of 'management'

The Dim told me, "off camera", that all this nonsense was being driven from the area manager who stated that there will be zero tolerance on any accidents stating that any accident was gross misconduct because if all procedures had been followed then an accident could not happen!
The Dim said that the next person who had an accident on duty, driving or otherwise was "going to get it"

I would (it's a personal choice) tell the DIM,on camera,in front of whole office,that until the statement is retracted by either a personal visit or a letter from area manager then no one would be going out.
