It looks like another bit of spin from RM, as far as I know the strike will be Group wide and from the feedback I have had from staff across all functions It will be more solid than the last ones, I have even had talks with managers who are just as concerned over the proposed changes to the pension, lets hope they grow a pair of ba**s and ballot for strike action.

Lets face it they are just as much under threat from this as deliveries are, when they've finished screwing deliveries, logistics will probably be replaced by Eddie Stobart, it was proposed a few years back, but dropped due to it wouldn't save enough money.

This has been bought up before and RM tried it on with the Shuttle drivers after they sorted their deal.
Due to the Pension shite AND the fact that this pay deal affects future pay deals for ALL of us they are involved.

Royal Mail have written to our professional drivers and claimed that they should not have been balloted because they have already had their pay rise and they have stated that should there be any industrial action professional drivers will not be involved. To cover off both of these points, the ballot was on pay and Royal Mails business plan. This means we were not just balloting on pay but on the future of our industry. In the letter sent to OPG members even Royal Mail state ‘this dispute has never been about pay’ Maybe they thought we wouldn’t get to read them together?! On Pay it is clearly stated in the professional drivers agreement that you will receive the same percentage as OPGs from October this year. In short this dispute affects every single member in Royal Mail letters and that why you were all balloted!

I work on the Bays at an RDC, and as far as I know, the Drivers will be right there on the Picket Line with the rest of us. RM already tried tricking them into thinking that they couldn't Strike last time, but it didn't work.

When and if they die, I am going to the graveside, open the coffin and drive a stake through their hearts as even if Royal Mail say they are dead I wont believe it till I see it for myself.

I've told some Drivers about the bulls**t team brief, and the message should be passed on to those who havent been on this site, that the Drivers are NOT going to cross the lines.

Apparently the long term plan is to pay up drivers or most probably get them through the door by underhand means . RM want to put more mail on the trains and use agency drivers as they are more "flexible".It's just another way of breaking/diluting the union. RM just put things on the backburner.
