Dudley D.O. announce intention to Ballot for Action
Members of Dudley D.O. met last week and announced that enough was enough and that they were prepared to take action to rid their office of some severe bullying from a certain manager.
Incidents of alleged racist behaviour, bullying members and the apparent indifference of Royal mail to take the issues seriously have finally led members telling their NEC rep that they want a ballot to bring the actions of a certain manager to an end.

all out strike from the chattering workers union? they only want royal mail to stick to the agreement which is the cause of all the chaos in the first place.pants123 wrote:all out, national strike, enough is enough... people are not machines, management are complete retards..

Re: Dudley D.O. announce intention to Ballot for Action
I'm no fan of the agreement,i personally think it's a naive pile of wishy washy half truths and false promises, far too weak and vague to protect the members it was designed to protect but...i think it's the plan behind the agreement that's causing the chaos not the agreement itself.Danelectro wrote:they only want royal mail to stick to the agreement which is the cause of all the chaos in the first place.
It was always a half baked plan but given the changes in the last two years even the baked half is already pretty much obsolete.
At the time some of us said they would never stick to it,that they would never achieve it's aspirations and that management would just cherry pick the parts they wanted and the sad thing is that doesn't make us able to see into the future, only able to learn from the past.
Despite what Dave Ward says in public he knows that the modernisation plan is an abject failure on all counts,Hooper had his doubts that the present management structure would be able to deliver and he was right....and now that management realise themselves they can't deliver the savings by fair means, rather than hold their hands up to the truth they have resorted to their default position of trying to intimidate their way out of trouble.

Dudley delivery office is in a total mess with stress levels at breaking point .The management are putting more and more work on the workers and when you book docket you have a manager looking over you and then they question you.The rounds are far too big and harassment has become common place .A lot of posties are not taking there breaks and making the others look bad.My big fear is that sooner or later a postie is going to collapse , then the management will have blood on there hands and do something about the office.

Same happening in my office but before the delivery methods revision, people working over too scared to book and people who claim OT only get paid what the manager thinks he can get away with, part timer who starts at 08:00 in at 06:45 no break aswell only has to throw off a round, managers telling people to go to toilet in meal break and if they talk will not have any extra taken off themhuggybear wrote:Dudley delivery office is in a total mess with stress levels at breaking point .The management are putting more and more work on the workers and when you book docket you have a manager looking over you and then they question you.The rounds are far too big and harassment has become common place .A lot of posties are not taking there breaks and making the others look bad.My big fear is that sooner or later a postie is going to collapse , then the management will have blood on there hands and do something about the office.

Yeah i see where your coming from but the plan and the agreement go hand in hand and if the agreement is far too weak to protect members then maybe its time to get a new one.If not its back to weak and strong areas and delivery as enabler, bsi etc etc and no accountability to some decisions and agreements made over members heads by senior reps.fishtank wrote:I'm no fan of the agreement,i personally think it's a naive pile of wishy washy half truths and false promises, far too weak and vague to protect the members it was designed to protect but...i think it's the plan behind the agreement that's causing the chaos not the agreement itself.Danelectro wrote:they only want royal mail to stick to the agreement which is the cause of all the chaos in the first place.

Work to rule, use trolleys have your 40 minute meal relief and dont go over.
They cant touch you, cant stop payment of docket if your not doing any.
If the whole office did that like the one in Sussex where nobody does docket the DOMS would be screwed .
They have to get postmen in from other areas to do cut offs
As for coming in early unpaid .......absolutely rediculous

Re: Dudley D.O. announce intention to Ballot for Action
As appealing as strike action is it would be more usefull to simply work to rule do no overtime and cut off if need be.because royal mail will blame failures on strikes. Do it after Xmas that could be better but I can totally understand why people want to walk its a massive f**k up being dressed up as success.

Re: Dudley D.O. announce intention to Ballot for Action
How exactly do you get people who are coming in early to work to rule?
How exactly do you tell part-timers they have to live on a bare wage 3 weeks before Christmas and probably right through?
What damage do you think you will do to Royal Mail by cutting off when they have causals already on the books for Christmas waiting to soak up your cut offs?
Do you think managers will just stand by and let a backlog build up?
Some of you are off in another world...

If i remeber correctly fish, working to rule is classed as industrial action and therefore requires a ballot. I think the phrase we use around our area is
'doing the job properly'.
'doing the job properly'.

Re: Dudley D.O. announce intention to Ballot for Action
Working your contracted hours, taking meal reliefs and relaxation allowances, following agreed SSOW and SOPs and working at an acceptable work rate of 75BSI is all that is required and would not require a ballot of any kind.Pinky 1 wrote:If i remeber correctly fish, working to rule is classed as industrial action and therefore requires a ballot.
