You have to be kidding me, why just one round between the 2 of you??? Why no large packets??? If you are getting it that easy and returning to the office early you will soon have ALOT more put on the delivery and then welcome to the REAL world of Royal Fail

This is usually the outcome in the early stages of a park&loop failure.
No-one knows the new sorting so IPS takes twice as long.
No-one knows the new frames so prep takes twice as long.
Before anyone knows what's happening it's 11.00 am and you're just starting to tie up.
You only do one delivery because you only have time to do one delivery.
Next morning the whole circus starts again probably with you prepping the mail that didn't go anywhere the day before back into the frame which means even less time for IPS.

It didn't need to be that way.
If Royal Mail had just paired two existing 3.30hr duties together and let the duty holders arrange the loops then added the tracked and large packets most duties would have been achievable,they could have saved a fortune on planners and the PIR could have dealt with any issues easily.
The reason a lot of PIR's haven't been completed(just how many is frightening) is that the only way to fix a lot of these failed revisions is to tear them up and start again and managers are bricking it at having to admit that.
Pegasus promised them savings and their eyes lit up and turned to pound signs,what it delivered them was a costly disaster.

Did you notice in the recent issue of the propaganda times, somebody wrote in highlighting issues and they couldn't even answer that properly

I did. If you notice they are moving heaven and earth to stem the tide of employee complaints, industrial unrest, public unrest, political anger and growing anger at CWU hierarchy level.
This is becoming like Hitler's attempt to hold out from his people and look where that got him. If this Christmas goes down like a lead balloon which I fear it will, then I think this management teams days are numbered.

No you are not wrong, if you look back at this time last year and previous years the same sentiments were being expressed on this forum and what happened, Royal Mail had a successful Xmas because everyone who complained all year round about bullying mangers and deliveries that were to big went out of their way to show they could do it. The message this sends out is that its only a few staff grumbling throughout the year. It also indicates that our managers cannot be that bad if the posties are willing to stay out all hours and in all weathers at Xmas to ensure our offices are cleared and our local friendly managers are clapped on the back and told well done, another bonus coming your way boss.

It does not take a genius to realise that Xmas is an oppourtunity to highlight the major problems we have and draw the publics and our politicians attention to it. Perhaps
this is to radical for big Billy or his sidekick Dave to get involved in. If this chance was given to Bob Crow of the railworkers he would think it was an early Xmas present.

Hamp, I think we all try and do our best for the customer no matter what. However, i think we have now surpassed 'No matter what' and the problem for Royal Mail is that there is a vast swelling of anger amongst the delivery staff and total resentment of what is going on, to the extent that sufficient people are no longer prepared to go the extra mile and without that support from experienced postpeople at this time of the year, failures are going to happen nationwide. Won,t it be great if some of these happen to hit the press.

I know that and you know that but think of the bigger picture, the public perception is that things cannot be that bad if the posties are willing to go the extra mile, Im sure Moya will take this view as well, back to what I said about Bob Crow he would have made hay while the sun shone. He did not worry about the olympics being disrupted when it came to his members interest. Also this idea about throwing overtime about like confetti. I do not know what area you are in but we have already been told that the days of vast amounts of overtime at Xmas are over and we will be monitored every day of Xmas pressure, in fact it is already started. No fishtank going the extra mile at Xmas is seen as weakness.

i dont even open mine anymore, it really is as you say 'propaganda'. full of people who are supposedly happy as a pig in shyte, everything is hunky dory, and they all care PASSIONATELY about the job and people,,,full of bright new ideas that will benefit the business and us, getting on grrrreat with their gaffers. are they REAL posties?? i nearly opened it last issue because we had ran oot of bog roll, but it wouldve blocked the pan,,,,,too much shyte
