Payment for mobile phone!!!!!!!

If I breakdown (on a rural), my dom says says call the RAC and don't leave the van, I don't carry my own personal phone for RM use, risking damage or loss and using my credit.
I'll leave the van and start walking home/nearest residence I know will be at home.
When customers moan that I didn't call them when I have a parcel, and they have left their number on piece of paper I have to say 'I didn't see the phone'.
(I don't have time to fanny around anyway).
Posties are always being called on their mobiles by the dom, OK RM pay for the call, but it still means we have to carry expensive bits of kit around.
I think RM should pay us a weekly allowance for us to use OUR mobile phones for THEIR benefit, (then I might buy a cheapo).

I always call the RAC on my PDA the numbers stored in it.

I believe there is a PIN to use the PDA phone facility, we have not been deemed trustworthy enough to have it.

I've never given a manager my mobile number and never intend to!
